Oceania Yacht Agency passes its 5-year Anniversary

Oceania Marine’s Stand at Auckland Boat Show 2026 – Nathan Tomlinson OYA (L) and Dan McDonell PWMC (R)
Time definitely passes quickly in the marine industry as Oceania Marine Yacht Agency, which was established in 2021, passes its 5-year anniversary. Oceania Marine Shipyards set up the agency to assist vessels and overseas management agents with logistics and support for yachts entering the Pacific, particularly if they planned a stop at some point in New Zealand.
The agency is primarily designed to not compete with existing agency arrangements, as it does not offer brokerage, charter and management services, but rather complement existing or fill the gaps. Its secondary function is to inform the superyacht sector of the opportunities for vessels to come to the fabulous South Pacific for cruising and charter together with what yacht support services are available be it just port entry or an extensive refit at Oceania Marine Shipyards in Port Whangarei, New Zealand. Nathan Tomlinson runs the agency for Oceania Marine and he comments:
“We are about to conclude a very busy cycle of social media, print advertising, overseas port visits and trade shows promoting the Asia-Pacific region as well as our shipyards here in Port Whangarei. The message has been well received by management agents and yachts alike with many looking for new horizons and the magic that a Pacific atoll offers. We are in a unique position in that we can directly assist with bio-security requirement or haulout for maintainace and refit with the support of a dual travel lift shipyard up to 560 tonnes.”
On the domestic front, Oceania Yacht Agency continues to engage with the local and international marine industry through events including the Superyacht Welcome function, the Superyacht Crew Golf Day and the Auckland Boat Show. These events provide valuable opportunities to strengthen industry relationships and promote New Zealand as a destination for visiting superyachts.
We follow this up with international attendance at the Antigua Charter Yacht Show, Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show and Singapore Yachting Festival, continuing to promote Oceania Marine’s shipyard facilities and the wider South Pacific region to yacht captains, management companies and industry partners.
